Subject: Project #1: Oil to Gas Conversion Faith Lutheran Church is working with Dennis Foley Plumbing and NSTAR on the oil to gas conversion. Work scheduled to begin this summer. We are undertaking our first project of Building Faith, converting our heating system from oil to gas. We have been working with Dennis Foley Plumbing and NSTAR to determine the best course of action. NSTAR came out in early June to survey the existing conditions; we currently have a gas line that supplies the range. They determined that the existing gas line is too small and too old to be utilized. A new 4” gas line will be installed to serve the new boiler and range. The line will run from Broadway, under our parking lot, and meet the build just behind the side vestibule. From there the line will run above ground on the side of the church, just above the foundation. It will then enter the church above the ceiling in the kitchen and head back to the boiler room. Work is expected to begin this summer. There will limited access to the parking lot while NSTAR is digging a trench for the new gas line. |
